You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God. ~ Isaiah 62:3

I came upon jewelweed growing in lush abundance this morning. A perfect choice for the WordPress Photo Challenge: shiny. The small droplets of water hanging on each leaf shone in the morning sunlight, a perfect ornament for reflecting the radiance of God’s creation.

When He cometh, when He cometh
To make up His jewels,
All His jewels, precious jewels,
His loved and His own.

Like the stars of the morning,
His brightness adorning,
They shall shine in their beauty,
Bright gems for His crown.

~ William O Cushing (1856)

In the Eye of the Beholder

“Jesus Christ drew all His illustrations from His Father’s handiwork, from sparrows and flowers, things that none of us dream of noticing; we take our illustrations from things that compel attention.”

“When we are born from above the Spirit of God does not give us new ideals, we begin to see how ideal the real is; and as we pay attention to the things near at hand, we find them to be the gate of heaven to our souls.” ~Oswald Chambers

Hummingbird Feather

I recently received a SPECIAL DELIVERY. Left as a gift on a red gerbera daisy, this small hummingbird feather delights me. Until this year, in the midst of a wild abandon of gerbera daisy blooms, I didn’t know hummingbirds fed on gerbers.

Skywatch Friday Feather

As of now, the feather sits on a window sill, the end weighted down with a pebble, waiting for me to decide how to best preserve it. Any ideas?

Sycamore Tree

“Men cannot say they do not know about God. From the beginning of the world, men could see what God is like through the things He has made. This shows His power that lasts forever. It shows that He is God.” ~ Romans 1:20 (NLV)

I enjoy getting up close and personal with sycamore trees. The jigsaw pattern and texture of their bark fascinates me. I love to admire the handiwork of the Lord. What a beautiful world we live in.
